Collection: The Indigo Collection

The Indigo Collection.

The collection inspired by the sadness that comes with grief. Grief is something we will all experience in life. We are taught by society that we are suppose to grief at home but be “okay” when we step out into the world. When people ask you how you’re doing you say “I’m doing okay” instead of “I’m fucking dying on the inside, my eyes burn from crying and I just can’t stop hurting” because we don’t want others to feel our pain or feel bad for us. Why do we do this? Why do we view grief this way? When I started grieving Maya (my 13 year old weenie dog), I was honest about how I felt. It was the first death I allowed grief into the room. I sat with it. I looked at it in the eyes. For the first time in my life I realized that we misunderstood grief. We were taught to dread grieving and that it was “bad” and too ugly to look at. We were taught to shield this side of us from the world.

Grief is our soul’s way of healing. When you cut your arm, the cut burns and it’s painful at first. It’s sensitive until the scab starts to form. The cut goes through many ugly and painful phases of healing. One day the scab finally heals and scar tissue forms. We know it’s a reminder of the pain we once felt. It’s always there to remind us of the moment in time when something happened that led to this scar. The same thing happens with our souls. Over time the fresh cut to the soul because scar tissues on our soul. If we don’t grieve, our souls will never heal. It takes a lot of strength to let your soul take over and allow it to heals itself.

I invite you to acknowledge your pain, your sadness, your grief and your scar tissue. I encourage you to invite your grief in the room with you. I hope you realize that this is your soul’s way of healing itself because you are so powerful and strong. We grieve because we have the ability to love someone or something so much that when they die we allow them to take apart of our hearts and souls with them. That way they can always find their way back to us.

I invite you to experience the Indigo Collection 💙
